ARC Legacy was a gaming clan that was created for Star Wars Battlefront II on the PS2.

HistoryEdit

Origin and DurationEdit

ARC Legacy was founded by its two main clan leaders, Eragon and HORST in 2007. The name is derived from the Advanced Recon Commando Troopers (ARC Troopers) in the Star Wars universe but specifically refers to a book of the same name that was in the works but never published due to timeline infringements. ARC had an average of approximately 6 active players at any given time over its three-year run but at some points had as many as 14 active members and at some times as few as 4. ARC Legacy's practice stressed respect as a core value and integrity on and off SWBFII, especially in clan dealings. ARC also placed a great deal of emphasis on fun and team development over greuling competition, and consistently attracted casual gamers looking to have a good time. ARC participated in two official Battlefront Community Forum Season Ladders as well as a Space Ladder, in addition to far more unrecorded matches. ARC Legacy officially disbanded in the Summer of 2010, with no further plans to play on either SWBF1 or SWBFII.

TryoutsEdit

Tryout proceedure for ARC Legacy was unique in that it was very specific and incorperated evnvironmental tactics into a basic dogfight setup that allowed a thorough testing of the four basic classes of SWBF2. The classes were tested in sequential order and followed objectives that were specific to a class's usefulness, in scenarios that the class was best suited to fight in. The soldier class was tested in the Circle of the Death Star at a medium range presented from two opposite hallways. The Assault Trooper class was given a moment to prepare a defense of the Rebel CTF Base, and was tasked with stopping the Tryout Administrator from reaching the flag score-zone. The Engineer Class was tested in the Detention Block and in the Super-Laser room, where the shotgun as well as detpack-effectiveness could be judged efficiently. Finally, the Tryoutee and the Tryout Administrator would hunt one another as snipers on Kamino, where stealth, ranged shots, open shots, moving shots, and elevation experimentation could all be tested. Each class was tested until the Tryout Administrator was satisfied. Tryouts were always administered by members of the rank of Captain or higher, but most tryouts were carried out by either HORST or Eragon.

Current SituationEdit

ARC Legacy is currently disbanded until (or if) Star Wars Battlefront 3 (SWBF3) is released or until some other supplementary game is found. As of late, most former ARC Legacy members are strewn across several different clans in SWBF2 and some others do not play SWBF2 any longer, including current RX2 (Royal Renegades) members DarkKnight and Moebewan. Although it should be noted that most of the members of ARC Legacy have been in constant contact with eachother since their departure.
