Mercenaries of Honor

Formation
Edit
Mercenaries of Honor or {MOH} was a gaming clan that originated in 2007. Crapgamer a former -MERC- Co-Leader decided shorty after a very convincing win over rival SOR, a win in which was set in motion by throwing scrimmages and learning SOR's tactics that it was time for a change. Time to start a new clan,a clan built on second chances and a winning attitude.
So secretly garnering support, Crapgamer was able to get Snipes, Duece, Hellhammer, Onslaught and Skanky Nugget on board for the formation of a new clan. The Merk clan with a K was thrown around.. Settling on a name that could have more then a single meaning, but also wanting the letter's not to spell anything, like "SOR" or "BOB". Actually considering ourselves to still be Merc or Mercenaries, finally deciding on Mercenaries Of Honor.

Added by CrapgamerFeud With -MERC-
Edit
Shortly after separating from -MERC-, Crapgamer(I AM THE CLAN) and Mercenaries Of Honor were soon at a feud with the clan. Apparently -MERC- took exception to Crapgamer doing all the footwork like recruiting, setting up matches, running practices and getting scrimmages. This was one of the biggest feuds ever on Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and might even still be going on if it were not that MERC died out completely. In particular MERC- Bad and Jose Canseco had tremendous heat with Crapgamer. -MERC- J actually intended to join {MOH} because he knew -MERC- would fail without Crapgamer there, which even though it was a long and slow death, eventually did happen.
-MERC- match
Edit
It was only a matter of time before Mercenaries Of Honor and -MERC- would do a clan match. It was set up to be an epic 8 versus 8 . However, with so much trash talking and so much at stake, a spectator was needed. {MOH} allowed clan Merc to even hand pick the arbiter and they chose from Clan FEAR Hotchick, who oddly enough wasn't hot in the least. Both sides agreeing that what she said goes and there was no arguing with any of her decisions.
Team {MOH} lost the first map, even with Snipes dropping 50+ kills, then right as the countdown started on the 2nd map, the power went out in central Florida, due to severe weather. Crapgamer and Hellhammer both lost connection and power altogether for almost an hour at the worst possible time. Wow, talk about sore losers.
By the time the 2 players managed to get power restored and back online, most of the -MERC- team had gone offline. The arbiter however, declared the game needed to be picked up from the start of the 2nd map with MERC- leading it 1-0.
-MERC- however, went back on their word and didn't accept the arbiter's ruling. Instead tried to claim victory, which nobody outside of clan -MERC- bought into. From that point on -MERC- refused to battle {MOH} on anything, even though {MOH} always had an open challenge out to -MERC- on any game, any time, any rules.
Controversial only loss
Edit
There were complications leading up to the official {MOH} Versus SOR match. The first of which was the unwillingness to accept the {MOH} Selection for a 5th and final map, {MOH} wanted Jabbas Palace, and even though the rules were clearly in favor of Team {MOH} picking the last map. Three times the map selection was criticized and MOH were forced to change their pick. MOH also wanted a larger match, 8v8 as Crapgamer had found incredible success with large matches in the past.  The day of the match, team {MOH} was kept waiting over an hour for SOR to get all of their players ready and into the room, during this wait a "comma" came into the room and not having the proper Comma boot on the server admin, {MOH} was forced to shut down the server. In doing so, Fannypack (DDT) the famed grunt had his PS2 lock up, only to never work again. So {MOH} was forced to go with a new and less experienced grunt. Wingzero the other grunt never returned either, forcing {MOH} to use Blue Raja at sniper, when he hadn't played the game in over a year. Lastly, was the revelation that {MOH} Alphaclone was in fact Rx2 IceCreamMan. A fact known by SOR at the time. This proved important because after the match was over, everyone found out his true identity and thought IceCreamMan threw the match on purpose.Turns out since MOH was kept waiting so long Icecreamman decided to eat his ham dinner and had greasy ham fingers for the match. Even after jumping to an impressive 2-0 lead MOH ended up dropping the final three maps. With a 3-2 loss, would there be a rematch?
Possible Rematch
Edit
Mercenaries Of Honor wanted a rematch and began negotiations with SOR to do so, however, these all soon failed as SOR would find one excuse after another as to why they couldn't do a rematch, the excuses varied from the size of the battle, which maps would be played and whose server would be used. {MOH} after conceding so much for the first match, some of which led to the loss in the first place, was left with a bitter taste.
Antifreeze the SOR leader gave Crapgamer access to the SOR private forums, to his surprise, SOR considered their win lucky and knew they could never win a rematch, this was cemented when Asap, a Star Wars Battlefront 2 legend came to {MOH} the day after the match, also returning was co-founder Duece, who was a highly skilled Sniper. SOR knew that with those two players added to the mix, they stood little chance of defeating their rival in a rematch.
SOR would disband a short time later, would this mean no redemption?
Redemption, sort of:
Edit
Mercenaries Of Honor had stopped playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 for a while and moved on to next generation gaming when former member Kratos (Now LSJ Leader) came to Crapgamer about a plan to beat clan COS (COS was mostly ex SOR members) This plan was to use {MOH} member but under a LSJ tag and under aliases as well. So Kratos, Shotdown, Snipes and Rockethoe put there plan to work. Crapgamer developed Strategies and went over them tirelessly with the team. When the day came, COS quickly had a 2-0 lead and seemed on their way to a 3-0 sweep, when finally a little luck , as MOH turned the tide. LSJ then swept the last 3 maps to hand COS their first loss and gain some redemption for {MOH}. A true friendship was born between {MOH} and LSJ that day and proved that MOH was one of the top all time Battlefront clans.
Strategies and Tactics
Edit
Mercenaries Of Honor were known for quite a few things, one of those things was their strategies. Crapgamer had been working on strategies since his days in -MERC- and had them down to a science. Adjusting with the best of them, of course it also depended on who he had in the match. Crapgamers strategies didn't end with map layout's and position callouts. It would sometimes go deeper, even going as far to throw scrimmages to gain knowledge of what the opponent liked to do and what side the opponent would even want to play. If you can take something away from your opponent, then do it. Never keeping Scrimmage records, the real battles were all that mattered. Often times other clans would hide behind scrimmages out of fear of an actual loss, {MOH} took a different approach however, using them to size up opponents and to even test out new players.

Mercenaries of Honor changed lineups often, believing that solid strategies, communication and execution were more important then actual skill. {MOH} never tracked who was in matches, because you win as a team and lose as a team.

Clan Expansion
Edit
After essentially dominating Star Wars Battlefront 2 {MOH} added new games to their stable of competitive gaming. First was Battlefield 2 Modern Combat. Actually playing this game while still on Battlefront 2, {MOH} first opponent was long time rival SOR. {MOH} dismantled the Soldiers of Rebellion for a 3 game sweep, so convincing, SOR never played the game again.
{MOH} Would go on to defeat other Battlefront 2 alum as well, like Clan Fear. Garnering an impressive 10-0 Record on BF2MC.
{MOH} finally had around 90% of it's members on next generation consoles (Xbox 360, PS3). Deciding to move on completely to new and better games. Mercenaries Of Honor has played COD4 on the Xbox 360 and PS3, gaining playoff spots in GameBattles and top 20 finishes respectively. Also Playing Halo 3, Gears Of War 2, Left 4 Dead, Rainbow six Vegas, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Call Of Duty World At War and more recently Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. Putting up an impressive 700 winning percentage on every game. Included in this large group of accolades was a spot in the Summer 2009 GameBattles COD4 Xbox 360 playoffs and a win streak that topped 62 straight.
With Modern Warfare 3, Gears Of War 3, and Halo games on the horizon, the future looks as bright as ever for team {MOH}.
